The theory is that kids who have access to technology, like the ones you describe, are better able to stay on task and perform better when they are outside of their home. The problem is, most of these kids are in middle or high school, and most of the technology in schools these days is connected to the internet, so they often have no real-world experience to draw on. They are learning on a screen instead of with real people, and this is a good thing.
This is a topic that many middle and high school educators struggle with. Some teachers struggle to understand and implement the appropriate curriculum and technology that is out there, and others will just throw their hands up in frustration when their students don’t learn everything they want to. This is one of those situations where technology can and should be used to help students learn. My husband and I have been working with a great elementary school district in Oregon to improve their technology education. If your district has a good teacher, a good curriculum, and well-developed technology, you could make a big difference in the students’ ability to learn.

You don’t see a lot of people taking this game seriously, and we would say it’s been played for a long time. In fact, games are like art at the same time.
